How we handle your pet's documents

What happens to a vaccination record, health certificate or lab result after you upload it.

What we use them for

We use your documents to check them against the requirements for your trip, to mark the matching checklist task as done when a check passes, and to keep your travel paperwork in one place.

Where they are stored

Files are stored in a private storage bucket at Supabase, our database and storage provider. Files are not public: the app opens them through links that stop working after one hour.

Automated AI check

When you upload a document, the file is sent to Anthropic, whose AI model runs our automated check. We save the result: the document type, whether it passed, a short summary and the details it found, such as dates and microchip numbers. If a file is not a pet travel document, we delete it automatically and tell you.

Who can see them

You can open your documents in the app. Our support tools show the Seiton Paw team a document's name, type and check result, not the file itself, and admin views of your trip are logged.

How long we keep them

We keep a document until you delete it or delete your account. We do not delete documents automatically.

Deleting documents and your account

Delete a document from the Documents page: the record and the stored file are removed. If the same file is also linked to another of your trips, it stays there until you delete it from that trip too. Deleting your account in Settings removes all your stored files.
